        Authorizes the establishment of Watershed Resource Management
        Districts and Local Watershed Advisory Councils.

SB 2175    RELATING TO CONSERVATION                             WLH, WAM
        Re-establishes the Youth Conservation Corps and authorizes the
        transfer of $500,000 from the natural area reserve fund to the
        DLNR for youths involved in conservation programs.

SB 2483    RELATING TO BURIAL SITES                             WLH, WAM
        Authorizes the DLNR to execute mitigation plans for the
        landowner, permittee, or developer, on request, for
        inadvertent discovery of burial sites.

SB 2603    RELATING TO THE ALA WAI WATERSHED                    WLH, WAM
        Appropriates funds for the Ala Wai canal watershed improvement
        project to improve the quality of water in the Ala Wai canal,
        tributary streams, and nearshore ocean waters.

 
SB 2604    RELATING TO THE ALA WAI WATERSHED                    WLH, WAM
        Clarifies the plan for sediment retention basins to protect
        the Ala Wai Canal.

SB 2914    RELATING TO THE SPECIAL FUNDS OF THE LAND DIVISION   WLH, WAM
        Allows for the deposit of moneys collected from lessees of
        public lands within industrial parks into the Special Land and
        Development Fund.  Abolishes the Industrial Special Fund and
        transfers the fund balance and liabilities to the Special Land
        and Development Fund.

SB 2915    RELATING TO THE SPECIAL LAND AND DEVELOPMENT FUND    WLH, WAM
        Allows for the deposit moneys generated by the disposition of
        mineral and water rights into the Special Land and Development
        Fund.

SB 2916    RELATING TO DISPOSITION OF WATER RIGHTS              WLH, WAM
        Allows for the disposition of water rights by direct
        negotiation, in addition to public auction.  Authorizes the
        Board to extend month-to-month water permits for additional
        one-year periods.

SB 2917    RELATING TO THE WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT FUND       WLH, WAM
        Establishes a water resource management fund within DLNR.

SB 2919    RELATING TO THE NATURAL AREA RESERVE FUND            WLH, WAM
        Authorizes the one-time transfer of $500,000 from the Fund, to
        the General Fund for 2000-2001.

SB 2108    RELATING TO THE PUBLIC LAND TRUST                    WLH, WAM
        Requires the auditor to coordinate the resolution of public
        land trust issues.  Requires the joint committee and auditor
        to submit a report to the legislature prior to the 2000
        regular session.

SB 2109    RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION ACT        WLH, WAM
        Allows department of Hawaiian home lands the authority to hire
        its own staff attorney.

SB 2111    RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS           WLH, WAM
        SALARY COMMISSION

 
 
 
 
        Clarifies that the OHA Salary Commission is subject to the
        advice and consent provisions of section 26-34, HRS.




SB 2118    RELATING TO HISTORIC PRESERVATION                    WLH, WAM
        Establishes a burial site program within DLNR to assist island
        burial councils with their mandated responsibilities.
        Clarifies and strengthens various laws relating to the
        preservation of native Hawaiian burial sites and artifacts.

SB 2117    RELATING TO PROJECT FAITH                            WLH, WAM
        Appropriates funds for Project Faith, Anahola, Kauai.

SB 2529    RELATING TO A LAND EXCHANGE IN NORTH KONA, HAWAII    WLH, WAM
        Approves land exchange between the State and Earl E. Bakken,
        for lands located in the Kiholo Bay vicinity of North Kona on
        the island of Hawaii.

SB 2513    RELATING TO CONVEYANCE TAX                           WLH, WAM
        Broadens the use of the natural area reserve fund by including
        watershed management projects.

SB 2514    RELATING TO WATERSHED PROTECTION                     WLH, WAM
        Establishes a watershed protection trust fund to fund public
        and private watershed management projects benefiting water
        quality; water quantity, and general watershed values within
        designated watershed areas.  Establishes a review board to
        identify watershed management areas.  Imposes a watershed
        protection tax.  Effective 07/01/01.

SB 2384    RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS           WLH, WAM
        Provides for full-time trustees for the office of Hawaiian
        affairs; prohibits outside employment; bases compensation on
        recommendations of the salary commission.

SB 2477    RELATING TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN   WLH, JDC
        AFFAIRS
        Proposes an amendment to Article XII, Section 5, of the Hawaii
        Constitution to allow for the recall of trustees of the Office
        of Hawaiian Affairs.

SB 2478    RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN   WLH, JDC
        AFFAIRS' BOARD OF TRUSTEES
        Requires OHA Trustees to be nominated in the primary election
        and elected in the general election.

SB 2684    RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS BUDGET    WLH, WAM

 
 
 
 
        Appropriates funds for office of Hawaiian affairs supplemental
        budget.

SB 2842    RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION ACT,       WLH, WAM
        1920, AS AMENDED
        Allows DHHL to adjust the interest rate on loans made from the
        Hawaiian Home Lands Fund.

SB 2843    RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION ACT,       WLH, WAM
        1920, AS AMENDED
        Clarifies that DHHL is authorized to lease out improvements
        located on Hawaiian Home Lands.  Provide DHHL greater
        flexibility in disposing of Hawaiian Home Lands to a native
        hawaiian or an organization or association controlled by
        native hawaiians.
